Can parents or outside coaches participate in ONWA practices?
No. Only approved Olde North Wrestling Academy (ONWA) staff members are permitted to coach, instruct, or participate in practices.

Although ONWA operates as a nonprofit organization, we function as a structured training academy with an established coaching staff, defined curriculum, and formal safety protocols. Participation in practices is limited strictly to registered athletes and credentialed ONWA coaches.
This policy is in place for important reasons:

-
Liability & Risk Management – Allowing non-staff adults to participate in practices creates unnecessary legal and operational exposure for the organization.
-
Athlete Safety – All ONWA coaches operate under consistent supervision standards and established practice protocols. Clear authority and oversight are critical in a contact sport.
-
Program Integrity & Continuity – We follow a unified coaching philosophy and structured development plan. Consistency in instruction is essential to athlete progress.
-
Organizational Responsibility – Maintaining clear boundaries ensures professionalism, accountability, and a properly managed training environment.
We appreciate the support of parents and the broader wrestling community as we maintain a safe, consistent, and professionally run environment for our athletes.
Does Olde North Wrestling Academy have a Board of Directors?
Yes. Olde North Wrestling Academy is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with nonprofit organizational requirements.

Our Board provides oversight, strategic direction, and ensures that the organization operates with transparency, accountability, and in alignment with our mission to develop young athletes through the sport of wrestling.

Olde North Wrestling is entirely volunteer-led. No board members or coaches receive compensation for their service.
Current Board Members:
• John Payne

What is WrestilngIQ and how does Olde North Wrestling Academy use it?
WrestlingIQ is a wrestling program management platform that helps academies organize operations, communication, and athlete information in one centralized system.
At Olde North Wrestling Academy (ONWA), we primarily use WrestlingIQ for:
-
Payments – Secure online registration and tuition processing.
-
Scheduling – Practice calendars, program updates, and session management.
-
Communication – Direct messaging and important announcements for families and athletes.
While the platform also supports technical curriculum tools, our current focus is operational efficiency — streamlining administration so our coaches can focus on athlete development.
All families will use WrestlingIQ to manage registrations, stay informed, and remain up to date with ONWA programming.
